G1 By Clayton Smith I ordered my G-1 jacket and was extremely skeptical about purchasing this item from a web site. So I called U.S. Authentic and was pleasantly surprised at how helpful the representative was. Being in the Marine Corps and stationed in Russia, we receive mail once a week and delivery takes three to four weeks minimum. Imagine my surprise on mail day ten days later when I received my jacket. Every detail was outstanding. Although I had not ordered double entry pockets, I am pleased with them. As flat as they are, my wife and I did not notice them until she had asked why I only got single entry pockets. While explaining the issue, my hands slid down and into a very nicely designed side entry pocket. I have nothing but praise to say about a simply outstanding jacket. After hemming and hawing on which brand, what size etc, I finally decided on U.S. Authentic, based on price and perceived quality from information on this website. Well, am I glad I did, because this jacket is great! Thanks! G-1 by John M Kalinowski Hi, Just received my G1 jacket and I am extremely pleased. The quality of the workmanship is very evident. I have been looking for sometime for a G1 and did not want to buy just anyone. I also would like to thank Customer Service for their assistance in helping me obtain the correct size. We had a little discussion on the size, and after giving him the measurements decided on the 48R. I was concerned with the arm length but he assured me he thought it was the right size. He also told me that if it was not right to give him a call and he would make any corrections. He took his time with me, I never felt rushed, and he did not push the customized option on me. I felt very comfortable working with him. Please pass on my appreciation for a job well done. I will recommend your company to any one I know looking for a leather military jacket. I know that people will be asking once they see the quality that you put into your product. Fewel Thank you for the beautiful G-1 flying jacket. I sent away for the Sporty's Pilot Shop jacket, from their catalog, first, but then thought I'd compare it against US Authentic, which I found web browsing for G-1 jackets after I'd already ordered the Sporty's jacket, and so I got them both. The mouton collar on the US Authentic jacket was much more generous than the Sporty's jacket I received. The knit cuffs seemed thicker, stouter, which I liked. I didn't order the side entry pockets because I wanted a really authentic jacket, but both companies sent the side entry pockets anyway. No problem, I like them fine, after all. I don't particularly care for the "Sporty's Pilot Shop" label being on my authentic Navy jacket, so I preferred the US Authentic label in such a small detail as that. The leather on the Sporty's jacket felt thicker than that on the US Authentic G-1, but any two jackets may feel different for various reasons, and the feel of the US Authentic hide is quite acceptable in both quality and feel. The finishing of the lining had a double seam on the Sporty's G-1, whereas on the lining of the US Authentic G-1 it was only single seamed. I imagine two Navy issue jackets could sport similar variations as these which I mention, so it is not much of an issue as long as the cut of the jacket looks good. The US Authentic G-1 looks great. It is a jacket exactly as you described in your catalog. The workmanship is superb, and it is exactly the same, if not better, quality than the one I was issued in 1976. My wife had received the package and after opening it called me on the phone and said, "you are going to love this jacket". Well, I do. All the custom features are just as I imagined, the quality and workmanship are outstanding.

By Dave Carroll I just received my new G-1 in the mail yesterday. It's amazing how accurate it is. I have a G-1 from the 50's which spurred me to buy a new one. It's so close to the original. I'm very happy with all aspects of my purchase. It couldn't be easier. I received my jacket 3 days after I bought it on-line. If you're in the market for a G-1, look no further. In arriving at the decision to have a jacket custom-made, I started with an off the rack jacket that didn't quite fit. This was cheerfully and promptly replaced with the next larger size (which was slightly too large). I was never pushed to order a custom jacket but as I was between sizes and I did want a couple options, I ordered a custom coat. The turn around time was amazing. I am so pleased with the jacket that I will recommend your company to anyone who asks. G-1 by David Carruth Austin, TXOn Friday, 01 November, 1 called and spoke to a gentleman about the correct size for a G-1 Flight Jacket I wanted to order, after listening to my weight, height, and other measurements, he recommended a 46R for a “uniform like fit”. I talked with him about having a G-1 from US Wings that I was unhappy with. To paraphrase him “you have a Chevy, now you are getting a Cadillac”. What an absolutely true statement! 1 received my jacket the following day. It is not only a perfect fit it’s gorgeous’ The leather feels like ‘glove leather’, the lit cuffs are much superior in quality than my previous G1 and it fits like it was tailor made for me. The jacket is a perfect replacement for the flight jacket I wore in the Navy in the late 70’s, The US Wings jacket is heavy and bulky. The sleeves are almost large enough for 2 arms. The lining (po1y material) is about 2 grades below cardboard. In comparison, your jacket is the perfect intermediate weight jacket. I love the supple leather, the excellent workmanship is evident all through the jacket and that satin lining is perfect. I love the jacket and the wonderful customer service you provided! After receiving my G-1 jacket today, I had to write this note to you. My father was career Navy and wore the G-1 for much of the last two years he was in the service. I wore one as well when I served in the Marine Corps. Unfortunately, while I still had both his jacket and mine each was a size 40 and much too small in the shoulders. And my daughter had laid claim to mine and taken it to college. I found your website, by accident really, and was intrigued by the prospect of re-owning a G-1.
