Customer Service is great! (Their staff should teach on-line companies how to "do" this!) Quality of the A-2 Jacket is excellent; proof that Made in the USA can still be a good thing! Overall, an exemplary experience!! Thanks! (Posted on 5/2/2016)

  2. compliments from complete strangers Review by Larry Heagle

The expression"You get what you pay for" has never held more true than when I ordered two different jackets, accompanying leather patches, and gloves from U.S. Authentic's Flightjacket.com. First off, there is no one better qualified to help you get your order made just the way you want it than Shaul Dover. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Shaul, including buying my first horse hide A2 some years ago (destroyed in a motorcycle accident), a magnificent sheepskin B3 jacket with incredibly accurate, detailed, painted on leather patches, later, a series of three Flying Tigers painted leather patches, and most recently a replacement for my destroyed horse hide A2, replete with correct painted leather patches depicting the "Fightin' 55th" Fighter Squadron in memoriam to my middle namesake, my Uncle, Raymond Wetzel, who piloted a Lockheed P-38 "Lightning". Everywhere I go, my jackets turn heads and elicit compliments from complete strangers. One of my best life experiences was being in Seattle, Washington, during a reunion of Boeing B-17 bomber pilots and crew members, who, because I was wearing my U.S. Authentic B3, would stop me and ask me about it and then regale me with great stories of their heroic efforts in World War II.

If you want the best made, most authentic flyers jackets, you want to contact Mr. Shaul Dover at Flightjacket.com!

I was very impressed by the quality of this jacket. The look, feel, and smell of the leather was all top notch. Much better than my Air Force issued A-2. I found Shaul to be very responsive to inquiries and genuinely interested in getting you the final product you're looking for. If you want a good representation of a WW2-style A-2 without needing a 100% copy of a certain contract, I highly recommend US Authentic. (Posted on 3/14/2016)

  4. The Real Deal Review by Mark VT

I bought my A2 horsehide, in seal brown, a little over a month ago and absolutely love it. I have no regrets about my purchase. Search no further your quest ends now. These jackets are the ‘real deal’. Quality and workmanship and attention to historical detail is superb. I think the jackets are worth every penny and then some. I especially love the new leather smell. Initially, I had some concerns about buying mail order because I did not want to possibly order the wrong size. I know I could have always returned it or exchanged it, but did not want to go through that. Shaul answered the phone right away and he put at rest my concerns about sizing. With his guidance, I was able to select the correct size. Delivery is without delay. I received mine in 3 days. Expect excellent customer service. My business suit size is 46L and the A2 jacket I ordered is 48R. I was skeptical about ordering a regular size jacket because most times for us tall guys the arm length and waist length is too short when it comes to regular sizes. However, Shaul said that the regular size should be fine for me, and he was spot on regarding that. For the price, I doubt you will find a better jacket. Even if you paid more, you probably won’t find one that’s any better. (Posted on 3/2/2016)

  5. US Authentic REALLY is! Review by Larry Heagle

    Quality

Some ten years ago, I bought my first A-2 flight jacket. Unfortunately, I hadn't discovered Shaul Dover and US Authentic at that time and I went with a different company. About four years later, after not really wearing my purchase that much, I ordered a horsehide russet A-2 from FlightJacket.com. Yes, it was somewhat more expensive, but it really is true that you get what you pay for! The jacket fit me like a soft glove and I wore it constantly. that is, until one day, while wearing it and riding my Harley, an automobile changed lanes, veering right at me. to avoid being hit, my bike jumped the curb and hit a light pole. The EMT's had to cut my prize jacket off my unconscious body. When I finally got back to near normal, I used the insurance money to buy a US Authentic B3 . . . and I was hooked! I still have that jacket in pristine condition through loving care. But truth time: I missed my russet horsehide A-2. finally this past month, I had saved up enough money to purchase a replacement and I am very glad I did. The quality is just as good, the leather is exquisite and the compliments are non-stop. Currently it is on its way back to Katonah, NY, for patches to make it into a tribute jacket to my Uncle Raymond Wetzel, a P 38 pilot who was killed in the war. Thanks, Shaul, for all your help and good advice! If anybody out there is contemplating an A-2 purchase, there is only one place to go! U.S. Authentic, where you are treated as though you are their only customer ever (Posted on 2/27/2016)

I bought my A2 horsehide, in seal brown, a little over a month ago and absolutely love it. I have no regrets about my purchase. These jackets are the ‘real deal’. Quality and workmanship attention to historical detail is superb. I think the jackets are worth every penny and then some. Initially, I had some concerns about buying mail order because I did not want to possibly order the wrong size. I know I could have always returned it or exchanged it. But, who wants to do that. Shaul answered the phone right away and he allayed my concerns about sizing. With his guidance, I was able to select the correct size. Delivery is without delay. I received mine in 3 days. Expect excellent customer service. Regarding fitment and sizing these are standard cut jackets. Specifically, they are sizes and dimensions used during WWII when men, or most men, were lean and mean. Again, these jackets are the real deal even when it comes to sizing. Remember that the average pilot was less than 30 years old and weighed maybe 150 pounds. So, if you have an athletic or a body builder type physique, or if even you have a large or bulky build you may want to consider going a size higher or asking if one can be custom made. This includes the sleeves which, for me, could have been a little wider, but have since loosened and are now fine. But, if my biceps and triceps were any bigger there would be a problem and no, I don’t have Schwarzenegger arms. My business suit size is 46L and the A2 jacket I ordered is 48R, not 48L. I was cautious about ordering a regular size jacket because most times the arm length and waist length is too short when it comes to regular sizes. However, Shaul said that the regular size should be fine for me and he was spot on regarding that. For the price, I doubt you will find a better jacket. 7. Jacket is Superb (but liner label was a distraction) Review by Cousin jack

I was looking for a Goatskin A-2 jacket and researched lots of companies. It came down to a choice between American Authentic and another well known leading brand, both were priced similar. I ordered both. I was amazed at the speed my order was shipped from Flight Jacket .com and it arrived within a couple of days. At this time, I still had not even heard if my order from the other brand company had even been shipped! My first impressions of the A-2 were very good. I ordered a 46 and thought it may have been a bit to big but it fitted really well and a 44 (my usual size would have been to small). I love the feel and color of the goatskin. It does not have that new stiffness or feel that sometimes comes with other jackets. Its quite supple and drapes well.
It seems extremely well made. The only disappointment I had was that the label sewn inside the lining was placed at an angle. I was not able to read the country of manufacture and after the word 100%, the word Rayon had been blacked out with what looked like a sharpie pen! The lining is meant to be 100% cotton. I contacted Shaul by email who confirmed that the lining was 100% cotton and was made in the USA. He did not explain why a blacked out rayon label was used!
The overall quality and fit was the deciding factor why I kept the jacket, I can live with the label.
I did receive the other brand but there was no comparison to the fit and quality of my American Authentic so I returned it. (Posted on 2/7/2016)

  8. Great product and service. Happy Customer Review by Neil

Just received new A2 Goatskin Seal Brown and I am very satisfied with fit quality and custom service. Shaul was accurate in sizing at 42 reg and fits perfect. The customization I requested was done perfect and to top it all off the jacket from custom order to delivery was less than 5 days. Truly remarkable service with a quality product. I looked at several vendors and G&B said 4 months delivery, crazy to me that they can not deliver, they did me a favor because US Authentic is a better custom order jacket. I will purchase another product from Shaul in the near future and be very confident I will receive another high quality product.. Highly recommend US Authentic. (Posted on 1/17/2016)

  9. Fabulous Look and Fit Review by Brian

    Quality

I just received my custom order A-2 Flight Jacket, Vintage Horsehide Dark and looks and fits fabulous! I am a recently retired 26+ yr Air Force colonel and pilot and have one of the first leather flight jackets that the Air Force started to re-issue its pilots in 1988 after a several decade gap since it had done so last. I had hoped to have FlightJacket.com custom paint the nose art of one of my father's B-17s that he flew out of New Guinea during WWII on the back of my jacket, however Shaul mentioned that it would not be possible because of the mechanics of how the jacket would need to be manipulated in order to be painted. Although it would have been neat to have given that jacket a "second career," it provided me an opportunity to obtain a custom jacket from Shaul that resembled the fashion and fit of my father's jacket even more closely. Shaul and his artist certainly came through--the jacket is beautiful and fits like a glove, not too tight, not too lose. I also had had gussets, front pocket hand-warmers, and an internal zippered pocket added to give the jacket more functionality. The quality of construction and craftsmanship are superb! The artwork is absolutely terrific and certainly looks like it will endure quite well. The character, "Tuffy" (a tough-looking blue collar type cat typical of the artwork of the early 1940s). I had the artist add one bomb for each of the 27 combat missions my father flew. (On a side note, there were several nose art options from different B-17s Dad flew that I preferred to put on the jacket but they would be considered quite politically incorrect in today's age, so I went with Tuffy). The jacket looks great and I am proud to wear it--and I am sure my father would approve of it as well. (Posted on 1/13/2016)

  10. Addendum to my review First Class A-2 Horsehide Russet Jacket. Review by BC from Upstate NY

This is an addendum to my review posted on 12/18/2015.
I wore my A-2 Horsehide Russet jacket for the first time and got compliments already from guys and gals at the office. Like what I have indicated, at 5'10" and 160lbs, I am sure glad that Mr. Shaul INSISTED I take a 42 Regular. Remember, an authentic A-2 jacket is cut VERY DIFFERENTLY from the mass produced mall jackets. I told Mr. Dover that I do not want my upper body to be restrictive in any way because of the jacket. We went back and forth about sizing but being an 'expert', Mr. Shaul Dover heavily suggested I take a 42 Regular. Fits like a glove with room to spare for a sweater if I want to wear it. For you folks who wants to know about sizing, LISTEN to him! You will be glad you did! I also noticed that the jacket has a soft 'brand new' leather smell... something a lot of the guys and gals in the office are talking about in a good way. As a follow up, Mr. Dover said that my A-2 Horsehide Russet should last me a life time with proper care. Judging by the quality of it, I second that. This A-2 is built like a tank yet supple at the same time. Thanks Mr. Dover for all your help and advise!! :-) (Posted on 12/19/2015)
